A) No. OnPoint@Home is not looking for
donations or selling any products or services. We
deal in ideas.
Q) What are the minimum technical requirements?
A) A Windows-based PC (Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or higher, Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher, or Windows Vista.) with Internet Explorer, USB Headset, and high-speed Internet connection (such as DSL or cable), must support at least 64 kbps in both directions (upload and download) your Internet provider can give you this information – (Wireless Internet and Satellite Internet will not work, unless it is Fiber Optic Internet). Memory: Windows 2000 or Windows XP: 512 MB or greater (we recommend 1gb of Ram or more) -- Windows Vista OS: 1GB or greater. Java Runtime Environment version 5.0 or 6.0. Microsoft Office Suite is encouraged. Sorry, no Macs at this time.
Q) Does it cost me anything to work with OnPoint@Home?
A) OnPoint@Home has gone through extensive effort and made a significant investment to generate valuable contact lists and to secure the most efficient and effective technology products in the market. We are happy to make these available to each of our Advocacy Coordinators if they choose, however we require a fee of $50 in consideration of these costs if an Advocacy Coordinator does not complete their first project under the agreed upon terms.
Advocacy Coordinators, who use OnPoint@Home's cutting-edge technology, will be able to work from home without having to pay long-distance charges. Please note that monthly fees and charges for your Internet connection are your responsibility.
While the use of our technology is not a requirement, it often provides for greater efficiency in
delivering the agreed upon services and can ultimately reduce your own personal business
expenses significantly.
Q) What is the pay?
A) Advocacy Coordinators are retained at an
hourly rate and are classified as independent contractors. Bonus opportunities are available for Advocacy Coordinators during peak periods and are at the sole discretion of OnPoint@Home.
Q) How do I get paid?
A) Upon the Advocacy Coordinators
invoicing, OnPoint@Home will process payments
weekly.
Q) What types of issues will I work on?
A) OnPoint@Home is a bipartisan firm that works on a broad range of business-oriented issues, ranging anywhere from energy to health care. We do not engage in traditional social issues.
Q) How long do projects generally last?
A) Advocacy Coordinators are retained on a project-by-project basis. Most projects last between 2 and 12 weeks. At the end of each project, qualified Advocacy Coordinators will have the opportunity to
remain active for a new project on a case by case
basis.
Q) What makes an ideal Advocacy Coordinator?
A) There are two key skills necessary for being an effective Advocacy Coordinator. First, OnPoint@Home is looking for individuals with strong communication skills. Every Advocacy Coordinator must have a professional and courteous phone manner and be able to simplify complex issues so that they are easily understood. Second, we expect each Advocacy Coordinator to be a competent writer who can accurately convey in writing the information provided by advocates.
Q) How is the work schedule set?
A) Every Advocacy Coordinator has the flexibility to set his or her own schedule between the hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday. A minimum of 25 hours per week is requested.
